PRIORITIZED MODERNIZATION

Prepare for post-quantum change without converting uncertainty into urgency theater.

Identify public-key dependencies, test crypto-agility assumptions and build a migration sequence tied to business consequence, evidence and accountable ownership.

THE READINESS QUESTION

Which cryptographic dependencies need a decision first?

Post-quantum readiness starts with the systems, data lifetimes and interoperability commitments that matter to your organization. A useful program exposes dependencies and decision points before it selects a migration narrative.

STANDARDS CONTEXT

Use the standards precisely.

In 2024, NIST finalized FIPS 203, FIPS 204 and FIPS 205 . FIPS 203 specifies ML-KEM for key establishment. FIPS 204 specifies ML-DSA for digital signatures, and FIPS 205 specifies SLH-DSA for digital signatures.

These are algorithm standards. They are not cryptographic-module validation, a certificate for a specific implementation or a universal commercial banking deadline. Adoption timing depends on each organization's systems, risk, contracts and ecosystem dependencies.

ASSESSMENT SCOPE

Build a usable picture of the migration surface.

Inventory public-key use

Identify important protocols, certificates, signatures, key-establishment paths, data protection lifetimes and third-party dependencies.

Test crypto-agility claims

Evaluate whether architecture, vendors, libraries, interfaces and operating controls can support a controlled transition when a decision is made.

Keep unknowns explicit

Separate evidenced dependencies from suspected exposure so leaders understand confidence as well as priority.

MIGRATION PLANNING

Sequence change around consequence and feasibility.

A roadmap should pair material risks with practical prerequisites: ownership, vendor capability, testing, interoperability, operating evidence and change windows. The objective is decision support, not a generic algorithm swap list.

  • PrioritizeRank dependencies using business effect, exposure horizon and confidence in the underlying inventory.
  • StageIdentify pilots, validation steps, compatibility dependencies and decisions that must precede rollout.
  • GovernAssign owners and evidence expectations so progress can be reviewed without false certainty.

ADVISORY BOUNDARY

A migration decision aid, not a validation claim.

GC Solutions does not certify modules or implementations, issue compliance certification, promise vendor readiness or infer a universal deadline. Recommendations are based on the agreed scope and approved evidence, with decisions remaining with your accountable leadership.

YOUR NEXT STEP

Establish the post-quantum decision path before the roadmap.

Start with a high-level business conversation. Evidence handling, scope and operating boundaries come next.
